Ezekiel Butler
.
Ezekiel Butler came about in 2006 when Pete Sen, musical director of Giffords Circus and graduate of the London College of Music decided to form a band to perform his music. A trip to the local shops in Gnosall took him through a churchyard where he saw two gravestones both belonging to Ezekiel Butler. Confused, Pete took this as an omen and that became the name of his band.
The line up of the band has changed but Pete has been consistent in his quest to record his music. He recently met producer John Perkins at a London gig and accepted an offer which brought him into IMMG studios to record an album. Three songs from which are featured on a new single. These songs are 'Chelsea Calling' which he wrote after staying in the bohemian 'Chelsea Hotel' in New York. 'Cat 76' written about internet dating, and 'Lily', a song which showcases Pete's rock credentials.
Ezekiel Butler have been interviewed on BBC local stations, including Oxford and Gloucester, and headlined 'Commotion Festival 2007'. They have recently been playing around various parts of the country including their native midlands, many London venues and look forward to the summer where they will be playing at some great music festivals. Some quotes already gathered from those who have heard them!!..
"One of the most interesting and original bands I've heard in a long time, as they are not trying to copy the rest of the currently feted and unoriginal crop out there." John Perkins
"Ezekiel Butler are the freshest thing on the menu. Their music is original, melodic and a heart warming change to anything that has preceded them." MySpace
